The Moose and Wolves were meeting for just the second time this season with two critical points on the line for two teams who want to earn themselves a spot in the playoffs.
Lineup news:
The team held an optional morning skate which did see Jets prospect Brad Lambert skating in a regular jersey. He’s been out of the lineup for ten days after being on the receiving end of this big hit in Laval. Additionally, despite being recalled from the ECHL the expectation was Thomas Milic would be backing up Collin Delia who came off the ice first this morning and that was confirmed when they took to the ice for warm-up.
Moose lineup:
Malott – Ford – Chibrikov
Viel – Reichel – Suess
Bongiovanni – Zhilkin – Jones
Torgersson – Nikkanen – Caron
Sautner – Bauer
Capobianco – Barteaux
Heinola – Lundmark
Delia
Milic
Notable:
I was doing colour this game so I was unable to clip much from the game. Collin Delia made three or four highlight reel saves and kept his team in this contest.
Ville Heinola. Not a forward.
With the home team down by two and needing a goal they did something I can’t recall them doing too much of this season…scoring with the extra attacker as Ville Heinola scored his first of the season after Kyle Capobianco did some nice work to get the puck into the Chicago end before finding Nikita Chibrikov who found Heinola. The colour guy sounds familiar.
It was too little too late as the Moose lost 2-1 and dropped their tenth straight game (0-9-1) which is a franchise worst losing streak.
