Manitoba Moose add five players to covid protocol

The Moose had been lucky since they added three players to covid protocol five days ago without any new additions. Until today. Today the team announced five players will be going into protocol:

G Philippe Desrosiers
D Johnathan Kovacevic
D Nelson Nogier
D Hayden Shaw
F Cole Maier

This is really unfortunate news for Jets 2017 3rd rounder Johnny Kovacvevic who is having another solid season and would have had a decent shot to make his NHL debut tomorrow if Dylan DeMelo wasn’t available to play.

Also means that Manitoba will be without four of the seven defencemen they had in the last game against Texas this past weekend with Nogier and Kovacevic in protocol and Ville Heinola (up with Jets/in protocol) and Dylan Samberg (up with the Jets).

The Moose also announced three additions this morning (one forward, two Dmen) ahead of their game against the Admirals in Milwaukee tonight. They’ve added forward Matt Alfaro as well as defencemen Chris Martenet and Keoni Texeira.
