The Jets were looking to add centre depth and it appears they have found it according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN/The Athletic who is reporting that the Habs and Jets are moving towards a deal that would send Sean Monahan to Winnipeg.

The Ontario product has 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 49 games this season.
From the folks at CapFriendly:
“Habs forward Sean Monahan is on a 1 year contract that carries a $1.985M cap hit, and a $15K PB which has already been earned. Monahan’s remaining cap hit if traded today is $785,729 and will be UFA in July.”
No official word on what the Jets would be sending back to the Habs yet but Darren Dreger of TSN is reporting it is a 1st and a conditional 3rd round pick in 2027 if the Jets win the Stanley Cup.
