Toronto Maple Leafs sign UFA forward Niklas Hagman to a four-year contract worth $12 million
Why? Once again, I’m not quite sure why the Leafs are being so active on the first day of free agency. They should be sitting back waiting to see which teams lose out on free agents and then looking to deal some of their expensive players to those teams. Their total cap hit is already over $42 million for next season, so the floor shouldn’t be a worry.
