Latest on injured Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers

Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers was placed on LTIR back on January 22nd and is eligible to come off of it on February 14th. The dynamic winger was back home in Denmark and is returning to Winnipeg according to reports.

Today during media availability interim head coach Dave Lowry was asked for an update on Ehlers and how soon he could be skating with the team in a non-contact uniform. This is what he had to say:

“He won’t be with the group for awhile. My understanding is he is still a long ways away. That might be two weeks that might be a month, I can’t give you a definitive day. He went home he could do stuff away. He comes back now we can ramp up and we will see where he is.”

Tough news for a Jets team that could use his goal scoring and ability to gain the zone.
