Late Evening News

  • Joe Sakic will be out of the Avalanche line-up for six weeks with a herniated disc.  Obviously the Avs, who have been having trouble consistently creating offense, will miss his scoring and leadership skills. 
  • James Mirtle thinks Ron Francis is being groomed to eventually become head coach of the Hurricans.  That appears like it is certainly on the team’s radar.
  • Daniel Briere will be out of the Flyers’ line-up for at least a month with a groin injury.  He just can’t stay healthy.
  • It looks like Sean Avery’s time with the Stars is on thin ice.  Rightfully so.
