Kyle Connor’s point streak hits 22 games; continues to lead NCAA in scoring

It really should come as no surprise at this point that Jets 2015 1st round selection Kyle Connor is continuing to re-write the record books.  He was tied with former Wolverine Mike Knuble at 21 straight games with a point and he has now eclipsed that mark with a 1st period goal (his 27th) against Penn State.  That puts hit streak to 22 straight games and according to Michigan Wolverines hockey is the longest in the Red Berenson Era.

Coming into tonight’s game he had 26 goals and 31 assists in 52 games.  That is five more points than second place Andrew Poturalski of New Hampshire.  Impressively Kyle Connor has played five fewer games than his closest scoring rival.

There is one final game in the regular tomorrow in a re-match with the Nittany Lions at Yost Arena.  The quest for 23 begins at 7:35 pm ET.
