Kyle Connor’s natural hat trick powers the Winnipeg Jets offensive explosion as they defeat Canucks 6-1

The Jets become first team in the NHL to get to 30 wins as they defeat the Canucks 6-1 to improve to 30-12-3 on the season.

Tonight was the Hockey Talks game between the Jets and Canucks, two organizations that played a significant role for Rick Rypien.

And then the Kyle Connor show began as he scored his first, then his second and then his third goal of the game for the third natural hat trick in Jets 2.0 history and the sixth of his career.

Gabriel Vilardi with a hat trick of assists as he matches his career high in points with 41. He’s at 19G 22A for 41 points in 45 games. He matched his total he set with the Kings in 2022-23 in 63 games but gets there in 18 fewer contests.

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck was recognized during the commercial timeout after he was named 1st Star of the Week on Monday. Seemed to add a bit more flourish for the crowd as he returned to his crease.

The Jets didn’t take their foot off the gas once the middle frame began as Neal Pionk scored his sixth of the season under a minute into the 2nd to make it a 4-0 game.

And the goals kept coming for the Jets as Nino Niederreiter gets his 12th of the season to make it a 5-0 game for the home team with a nice bank shot. He’s been buzzing all night long. Cole Perfetti gets his second assist of the game which gives him 100 points in his career.

This Jets fan was not happy to be compared to Pete Davidson on the jumbotron during Celebrity Look-Alike.

The Jets power play moves the puck so fast the camera can’t keep track. Mark Scheifele gets his 26th of the season on crisp passing from Nikolaj Ehlers and Kyle Connor (fourth point of the game).

Connor Hellebuyck‘s shutout streak came to an end (1:19:51) as the Canucks got on the board approaching midpoint of the 3rd which “cut” the lead to 6-1.
