Jets head coach Scott Arniel confirms Nikolaj Ehlers will travel to St. Louis; teases about jersey colour

While he isn’t expected to be a player quite yet another positive sign for the Jets is that Nikolaj Ehlers is joining the team on the trip to St. Louis as was confirmed by head coach Scott Arniel after he wrapped up his media availability today. Winnipeg will take on the Blues on Friday night in game 6 with a chance to punch their ticket to the second round.

It was just two days ago we saw Ehlers for the first time skating although we were subsequently told by the Jets bench boss that he had been skating already. Arniel jokingly said that until he’s no longer in a yellow, non-contact jersey we couldn’t ask for updates.

Today, Arniel teased “we’ll see what colour jersey he’s wearing” with regards to Friday at morning skate.

Even if he changes jersey colours it would seem like a longshot he plays on Friday night but definitely worth monitoring.
