Jets Development Camp Day 3: Dale Hawerchuk

Former Jets 1.0 great and current Barrie Colts head coach, Dale Hawerchuk spoke with the media today following day 3 on the ice with the prospects.

Dale Hawerchuk –  How did opportunity come about to get involved in Jets Development Camp?  Any misgivings about drawing attention due to his past success?  Is there still a development opportunity for him as a coach?  Would he like to coach in the NHL someday?  Would he like to come back to Winnipeg at some point in his career?  What kind of satisfaction does he get from seeing Mark Scheifele take that next step?  How was he able to transition into a successful coach?  What is the biggest thing he teaches kids at the junior level on how to take the next step?  Biggest change in prospects in today’s game?  What does he say to players who don’t want to come to Winnipeg?  Was it a problem back in the 80’s with players not wanting to be here?  How important will winning impact this?  Level of guidance that players receive in today’s game.
