Jets coach Scott Arniel & Blues coach Jim Montgomery offer differing views of Mark Scheifele situation

While the Jets won game 5 last night to give themselves an important 3-2 series edge over the Blues, they lost top line centre Mark Scheifele after the 1st period.

He was on the receiving end of numerous hits the biggest of which was delivered by St. Louis captain Brayden Schenn but he also took a big one at the Blues blueline when he made contact with Radek Faksa.

Here was the Schenn one:

And here was the one with Faksa:

After the game Blues head coach Jim Montgomery offered up this perspective of how the injury to Mark Scheifele occurred:

Which was followed by this response from Jets head coach Scott Arniel who was none too pleased with his counterpart:

Worth noting that Scheifele played until the end of the 1st period. His last shift came in the final minute which was a few minutes after the Faksa hit.

We may get an update on 55 at 12:15 pm today when the Jets bench boss speaks before the team heads off to St. Louis for game 6.
