From Sportsnet:

Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Jaroslav Modry is leaving the NHL and going home.

Czech club HC Liberec said on its website Thursday that the 37-year-old Modry signed a two-year contract with the team.

Read the entire report here.

The Flyers added Modry for depth last season and have some young players that are expected to take on more responsibilties next season.  Modry’s loss isn’t something that will change the team’s outlook in 2008/09.  The veteran defenseman’s best days are behind him, so he’s heading home to finish his career.
