As we get into December folks start to turn their attention to the World Junior Championship. Two Jets prospects were named to the initial U.S. roster of 27 today. This number gets cut down to 23 by the time the tournament starts on December 26th and goes until the final game played on January 5th. The U.S. camp starts on December 16th in Buffalo.
They are 2015 1st round pick (25th overall) Jack Roslovic from Columbus, Ohio who is currently the leading scorer for the Manitoba Moose. In 21 games in the AHL this season he has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points. If he makes the club and the Americans get to the finals it would mean that the top Moose centre would miss seven games with his AHL squad.
The other prospect is Eric Foley from Mansfield, Massachusetts who is in his second season with Providence College. Foley was drafted in the 3rd round (78th overall) back in 2015. He has played 14 games for the Friars this season scoring six goals adding eight helpers for 14 points. Provided Foley made the team and presupposing they make the finals it would mean he misses three games for his college squad.
