The Jets bench boss was asked today following skate if it is status quo with Tyler Myers and he responded with “correct” and did not elaborate any further. Coach Maurice indicated yesterday that his big defenceman is slated for a further test at some point this week.
To date he has missed two big blocks of games with the Jets both times after suffering an injury against the Avalanche. The first time he was injured was back on October 28th in Denver although he finished that game with the most ice-time for Winnipeg. He missed the next five games before returning on November 8th against the Stars. He played in that game as well as the next one against Arizona before he was, once again, done in during a game against the Avalanche in Colorado (two weeks to the day after his last injury). In this contest back on November 11th he only played 10:18 before leaving the game after the 2nd period. He has not played since missing a further 21 games for the Jets.
To date he has played just 11 games for Winnipeg this season and has two goals and three assists for five points.
