Hockey Canada invites Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele to Olympic orientation camp

On Friday we learned that a pair of Jets players had been invited by Hockey Canada to their Olympic orientation camp on the road to Italy in 2026. Top centre Mark Scheifele and top pairing Dman Josh Morrissey were included in the list of 42 invitees to the camp which is set to take place in Calgary in late August.

From Hockey Canada the three days in Alberta will look like this:

“The National Teams Orientation Camp is a three-day, off-ice event with players and staff from all three programs, which will include presentations, team-building opportunities, team meetings and media opportunities in preparation for the upcoming season.”

Morrissey was part of the Canadian team that won the 4 Nations this past February although he was unable to play in the game due to illness. Scheifele was seen as a player on the cusp but despite some serious lobbying efforts by Winnipeg head coach Scott Arniel during the season he didn’t make the cut.
