Heritage Classic Jets and Oilers alumni rosters revealed

At iconic Portage and Main the Jets and Oilers alumni rosters were revealed by Dale Hawerchuk and Kevin Lowe.

Jets: Dale Hawerchuk, Thomas Steen, Dave Babych, Laurie Boschman, Dave Ellett, Mike Ford, Mike Eagles, Kris King, Jim Kyte, Mario Marois, Morris Lukowich, Moe Mantha, Andrew McBain, Brian Mullen, Teppo Numminen, Teemu Selanne, Darrin Shannon, Doug Smail, Tim Watters, Ron Wilson.

Goalies:  Bob Essensa.  (Perhaps Pokey and the Bandit will be added next).

Honorary Coaches:  Tom McVie and Serge Savard.

Oilers:  Kevin Lowe, Dave Semenko, Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson, Paul Coffey, Jari Kurri, Charlie Huddy, Ryan Smyth, Esa Tikkanen, Kelly Buchberger, Randy Greig, Marty McSorley, Craig Simpson, Craig MacTavish, Ken Linseman.

Goalies:  Grant Fuhr, Dwayne Roloson and Billy Ranford.

Honorary Coaches:  Glen Sather and Ron Low.

During his introductory comments Kevin Lowe indicated that he had never been to Portage and Main when it was so warm to which Dale Hawerchuk replied “if he thinks its warm here today it is going to heat up in October”.

Hawerchuk indicated that players like Phil Housley, Paul MacLean, Randy Carlyle & Scott Arniel wanted to play but have NHL coaching commitments.

Both Hawerchuk and Lowe said that they expect to make a few further additions in the future.  With the Jets needing two goalies perhaps we see a return of Pokey and the Bandit.
