GM Peter Chiarelli, on the other side of the continent on a fishing trip this week, is handling negotiations with Dennis Wideman. So the Bruins aren’t expecting any agreement to take place — if they can settle before arbitration — until Chiarelli returns on Sunday.

The Bruins don’t seem too concerned about getting a deal done, so I would guess Wideman will be re-signed prior to his arbitration hearing.
