The big lineup news yesterday was that Nic Petan was assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. This was a surprise as Petan had been skating with the main group on Tuesday, not as an extra like Joel Armia and Marko Dano. However with Hendricks returning off injured reserve and Petan not needing to clear waivers, he was seen by coach Maurice as the player to be sent to the minors.
AM Skate notes:
It was an optional skate this morning in Pittsburgh according to Jamie Thomas of Jets TV. He also indicated that Adam Lowry took part in the skate wearing a non-contact uniform.
Projected lines:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ehlers-Little-Laine
Tanev-Copp-Matthias
Lemieux-Hendricks-Armia
Morrissey-Trouba
Enstrom-Byfuglien
Kulikov-Myers
Hellebuyck
Mason

Coach Maurice: Updates on players. Key to starting the road trip on right foot after five day “break”. Is Ehlers a classic example of a player using ‘from defence comes offence’? Will there be a sign that he sees from his players early in the game that they are ready? What is the identity of this Jets team as they push for the playoffs? On the players the Penguins are missing and how that impacts the pre-scout?
