Game 78: Jets vs Hurricanes pre-game report

The Jets looked like they would limp into tonight’s game not yet officially eliminated from the playoffs but the Vegas win in OT last night seals that deal. Of course given that Carolina currently sits 4th overall in the NHL and have a 27-8-4 home record it wouldn’t have been easy to come away with two points.

Still some lineup questions ahead of puck drop with Connor Hellebuyck under the weather the last game in New York and Mikhail Berdin recalled on an emergency basis.

Also with the game Logan Stanley had against the Rangers you’d have to think that they will give Dylan Samberg a shot this evening.

Will have to wait for morning skate to see what is happening.

Skate news:

As per Mitchell Clinton the answer to the goaltending question is that all three are on the ice. He indicated that the forward lines remain the same. Lastly the D pairings weren’t clear since all seven D rotated through. He did add that Hellebuyck didn’t do his usual starting routine and he felt that Comrie could be the starter tonight.

Lineup news:

Jets interim head coach Dave Lowry confirms Eric Comrie starts with Mikhail Berdin backing him up. He also indicated that Dylan Samberg comes in, Logan Stanley comes out.

Jets projected lines & D pairs:

Connor-Stastny-Ehlers
Sanford-Dubois-Wheeler
Barron-Lowry-Appleton
Harkins-Toninato-Svechnikov

Morrissey-DeMelo
Schmidt-Pionk
Samberg-Dillon

Comrie
Berdin

Betway Odds:

The Jets slide continues although perhaps with the weight lifted of pretending that a post-season was a possibility they would be a worthwhile selection this evening. The odds wouldn’t be in your favour but it would result in a nice pay day if the visitors could buck the experts predictions. Be sure to check out the latest game day odds from Betway.
