Instead of delivering a knockout blow to the Flames playoffs hopes the Jets failure to take control in the 3rd period saw them breathe life into their fellow former Atlanta based club. Calgary and Winnipeg are now tied with 89 points although the Jets have one game in hand.

With his goal in the 1st period Kyle Connor moved into sole possession of 2nd on the Jets 2.0 all-time power play goals list with 53. He was tied with Blake Wheeler and Patrik Laine. He now trails Mark Scheifele who is in 1st with 71.
Pierre-Luc Dubois got the secondary assist on the opening goal by the Jets which gives him 35 on the season. That’s a new career high besting his 34 he set with Columbus in 2018-19. He also ties his career high for points with 61 (set that same season). And it was his 300th point in the NHL.
