Game 76: Winnipeg Jets vs Vegas Golden Knights pre-game report

The Jets were off on Wednesday so we will have to wait and see if Eric Comrie is with the team (or if he returned to Winnipeg to be with his wife who is expecting their next child) and if Luke Schenn who was scheduled to play in the last game but had stiffness and didn’t play are both available for the game tonight against the Golden Knights. With the Stars just four points back (with a game in hand) picking up points are crucial right now for Winnipeg.

Of course going to Vegas is not exactly where this team would want to be going if they need points. The Golden Knights have won eight straight games against the Jets. While T-Mobile Arena isn’t as formidable as Crypto.com Arena the Golden Knights are near the top of the league when it comes to home wins.

The Golden Knights are coming off a regulation loss to the Oilers and while they are likely comfortable in 1st in the Pacific with a five point lead on Los Angeles you know that they, like the Jets, want to keep control of their own destiny by continuing to bank points.

Skate news:

Couple of lineup changes as per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press who indicates Jaret Anderson-Dolan draws in for David Gustafsson while Eric Comrie gets the start in net. Sounds like Luke Schenn is a game-time decision.

Warm-up news:

As per radio colour analyst Mitchell Clinton it will be Luke Schenn drawing back into the lineup. Haydn Fleury is out.

Jets projected lines & D pairs:

Connor-Scheifele-Iafallo
Ehlers-Namestnikov-Perfetti
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
JAD-Barron-Tanev

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Schenn
Stanley-Miller

Comrie
Hellebuyck

Golden Knights projected lines & D pairs:

Barbashev–Eichel–Stone
Saad–Roy–Dorofeyev
Olofsson–Karlsson–Smith
Pearson–Howden–Kolesar

Hanifin–Pietrangelo
McNabb–Theodore
Hague–Whitecloud

Hill
Schmid

As per Jesse Granger of The Athletic Vegas this is how they looked in warm-up.

Coach’s comments:

“We’ll see. He’s out there, he’s out there in a white jersey, we’ll see where we go from that.” Jets head coach Scott Arniel on Luke Schenn. So we will have to wait for warm-up to see if he plays.
