With the Predators getting pumped by the Kraken and the Flames defeating the Sharks it was an opportunity for the Jets to show they could handle a tall task in defeating a one of the best teams in the Western Conference. Instead it was the Kings who held court defeating Winnipeg 4-1 which drops the Jets to 41-30-3. Calgary just four back with eight games to go.

Notable:

The Jets didn’t start the game on time and it burned them as the Kings scored early to take a 1-0 lead and outshot Winnipeg 10-0 and then 12-1 during the opening period.

Things went from bad to worse for Winnipeg when Los Angeles took a 2-0 lead but an undisciplined five minute major by Blake Lizotte gave the Jets a chance to get back into this game after he cross-checked Josh Morrissey in the face. But would Winnipeg be able to break their 0/23 drought with the extra man?

They did in fact courtesy of Pierre-Luc Dubois 25th goal of the season as he finished off a beauty pass by Kyle Connor to cut the deficit in half.

Kyle Connor set a new career high for assists with 47.

Didn’t have a great final frame and the Kings took this one.
