Game 70: Jets vs. Predators pre-game report

The Jets hit the ice in Nashville this morning and according to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun they didn’t have any line rushes. Ken did indicate that Connor Hellebuyck starts (14th straight time).  After chatting with the coach, Ken indicated that Trouba will not play (upper body), Nic Petan is a healthy scratch and Chris Thorburn returns to the lineup.

Pre-game audio:

Marko Dano:  Hitting the reset button.  Forgetting the standings and looking at it game by game.  What made the group in Columbus play loose when they were seen as “out of it”?  How has he been feeling since returning from injury?  Extra pressure on the forwards to help out the back end without Enstrom and Trouba?

Mark Scheifele:  What is the vibe in the room?  What can they get out of the last 15 games?  On the Jets special teams and why they aren’t working?  What does Nashville do well that makes them hard to defend?  His thoughts on the morning skate.

Coach Maurice:  Status of Trouba?  Is he hopeful that Trouba plays this trip?  Without Enstrom/Trouba on the pieces that are there and the extra pressure on the forward.  What is he looking from his group down the stretch?  On players need to understand they don’t have a guaranteed spot in the roster.  Who is out today?  What can he as a coach learn down this stretch?  Does the expansion draft change players mentality?  On recalling players from the Moose.  Might they see Eric Comrie on this trip?  Thoughts on morning skate? Status of Tyler Myers?
