Things started well for the Jets but it was all downhill from there, culminating in a 7-3 Leafs victory. It means Winnipeg fails to win a fourth straight game and won’t gain any ground in the playoff chase as they fall to 33-26-10 on the season.

Notable:
Recently acquired Morgan Barron made his Jets debut. He chose number 36 which has only been worn by two Jets 2.0 (Josh Morrissey back in 2016 and Mark Flood in 2012). He had one hit, one shot on goal in five minutes and three seconds of ice time.
Jets captain Blake Wheeler now has a seven game points streak
Paul Stastny is in full turn back the clock mode. He scored his 18th goal in his 58th game of the season. Last time he had 18 was in 2016-17 with the Blues and he did that in 66 games.
Undisciplined play cost the Jets in the middle frame as the Leafs scored three power play goals and a shorthanded one for extra measure.
After winning his last five games Eric Comrie picks up the L and his record is now 8-3-1.
Austin Matthews scored his 50th goal of the season into an empty net.
Multi point game:
Nikolaj Ehlers 1G 1A
Mark Scheifele 2A
