The Jets are winners of two straight but nobody is planning a parade when you consider they beat the 29th and 30th ranked teams in the NHL. They are stepping up big time in weight class tonight in NYC as they take on a Rangers team that sits in top spot in the Metro division who have also won two straight games.
Winnipeg has been a good road team this season at 20-10-3 while the NYR have been lights out at MSG with a 24-8-0 record.
The Jets swapped out a number of players a few games back and the expectation was they’d be back in the lineup in the last game but head coach Rick Bowness liked what he saw on Friday against the Ducks so he kept that going Sunday against the Blue Jackets. Seems like at a minimum Dylan Samberg gets back into the lineup but we will have to wait and see what happens at morning skate.
Pre-skate news:
The Jets announced that head coach Rick Bowness has returned to Winnipeg for a minor medical procedure and that Scott Arniel will be handling bench responsibilities in his absence.
Morning Skate:
As per colour analyst on the radio broadcast Mitch Clinton only one change is Dylan Samberg coming in for Logan Stanley.
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Iafallo
Ehlers-Monahan-Toffoli
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
Barron-Gustafsson-Namestnikov
Morrissey-DeMelo
Dillon-Pionk
Samberg-Schmidt
Hellebuyck
Brossoit
