The Jets road trip out east was a success overall but this game was not as they drop this one 5-3 to the Hurricanes.

Notable:
There was some hope for the Jets to get Josh Morrissey back but after skating this morning he didn’t take warm-up skate which meant Kyle Capobianco drew back into the lineup.
After tying Chris Thorburn on the all-time Jets/Thrashers games played list last game, Mark Scheifele moves into sole possession of 3rd spot with 710. Puts him nine back of Tobias Enstrom in 2nd. He already sits 2nd overall for the Jets 2.0 and is 4th overall for the combined Jets 2.0 & 1.0 list behind Steen (950), Wheeler (861) and Hawerchuk (713).
They say play to the whistle which is just what Dylan DeMelo did when he scored the game tying goal which tied his career high in goals with his fourth of the year which he set back in 2018-2019 when he was with Ottawa.
Goalie David Rittich will want the two goals he gave up in the 2nd period back cause those should not have gone in.
Winnipeg also has to do a better job of not giving up a goal within a minute of scoring.
Rick Bowness sat the Scheifele, Connor and Niederreiter line for the last 12 minutes of the 2nd period.
There was some shifts on the lines in the 3rd and Nino Niederreiter scored a nice goal off a nifty feed from Morgan Barron. Gives Niederreiter four goals in his last four games for the Jets.
