The Jets didn’t start this game looking like the team that had played last night as they came out with a strong opening period.  Some good work by Mathieu Perreault got the puck from behind the net to Adam Lowry who made no mistake to give the Jets a 1-0 lead.  Nikolaj Ehlers continues to look dangerous as he created another fantastic chance which Andrew Copp converted to make it 2-0 but the Oilers successfully challenged for goalie interference.  Winnipeg held a 16-9 shot edge after 20 minutes.

The middle frame was a total flipping of the script as Edmonton came out flying quickly tying the game and continuing to apply pressure all period long.  Eventually they would take the lead off a Kyle Turris goal.  Shots were 19-5 at one point until a late power play allowed the Jets to increase their shot total to six shots in the period.  The Jets looked like a team that had played five games in seven days.

The final frame looked like the Jets had regained their mojo which saw Nikolaj Ehlers tied the game off a nifty pass by Paul Stastny followed by a Blake Wheeler bank shot on the power play to give the Jets a 3-2 lead late in the 3rd.  However the Oilers weren’t gonna go away and they tied it up on a delayed penalty and then put a dagger in the Jets with a game-winning goal scored with 0.7 seconds left in the 3rd. Winnipeg falls to 4-2-0 on the season.
