Game 58: Avalanche 4 Jets 1 post-game recap

Photo Credit: Alexander James

The Avs handed the Jets a 4-1 defeat to drop them to 36-19-3 on the season on a night that Winnipeg just didn’t have it. Not sure what it is but whatever it is, they didn’t have it.

For those who would like to take a deeper dive into the advanced stats here are the results from tonight’s game via Natural Stat Trick.

Notable:

– Jets didn’t have much going on this evening;
– Credit the Avs who skated tonight and looked like the hungrier of the two teams;
– Biggest scare for the home side was in 2nd when Dustin Byfuglien got tangled with Rantanen;
– He came out for the 3rd and played the entire game;
– Joe Morrow got into a fight with Brandon product Matt Calvert with 10 seconds left in 3rd and limped back to room.

Coach Maurice:  His team not having the same pace as the Avs.  On Colorado’s desperation.  What made it the right time to put Laine back on the power play.  What did he see on the shorthanded goal against?
