Game 57: Jets 4 Rangers 1 post-game recap

Just as everyone expected as the Jets halt their losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Rangers thanks to a 50 save performance by Connor Hellebuyck. Winnipeg improves to 35-21-1 (one back of Dallas in 1st).

Notable:

While he might not catch Phil Housley’s record for points by a Dman Josh Morrissey set the record for Jets 2.0 with his 57th point in game 57 as he opened the game with a goal (which the NHL subsequently gave to Pierre-Luc Dubois but 44 still picked up an assist). He surpasses Dustin Byfuglien who had 56.

Mark Scheifele with his 33rd and 34th goals of the season which is the second highest for him after the 38 he had in 2018-19. He’s on pace for 49 this season.

That was the 40th game-winning goal of Mark Scheifele‘s career. He sits one back of Blake Wheeler (2nd overall) and two back of Kyle Connor (1st place).

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck was sensational making 50 saves for the win.

Connor Hellebuyck with a milestone in Jets win over Rangers as he faced his 13,000th shot in NHL. Since he came into the NHL in 2015-16 no other goalie has faced more shots. In fact no goalie has even hit 12,000 shots against. You can let us know what you think of this accomplishment on our instagram page.
