Notable:
Dominic Toninato picked up his first point with Winnipeg on the opening goal of the game.
Kyle Connor tied and then moved one point ahead of Patrik Laine on the all-time franchise points list with his two goals which were his 250th and 251st career points. That gives the Jets 2015 1st rounder 131G 120A in 305 games.
With an assist by Mark Scheifele on the Jets second goal he moved one assist ahead (305) of Bryan Little (304) into sole possession of 2nd on the all-time assists list for the franchise.
Veteran forward Paul Stastny took a hard hit early in the 1st period which caused him to briefly leave the bench but he came back and played the rest of the opening period and the middle frame but didn’t come out to start the 3rd period.
The Jets also lost Pierre-Luc Dubois in the final frame as he appeared to get hit in the face and was forced to leave the game.
In the final game of the season Jansen Harkins was rewarded for all his hard work with his first goal of the season.
End of Season Awards:
While not as abnormal as last season this year it was still unusual without fans and a pre-game ceremony. However the team still handed out some hardware which you can see here along with past winners.
Health Update:
Paul Maurice said this about Paul Stastny and Pierre-Luc Dubois who didn’t finish the game:
“They are both going to be fine we believe, precautionary to say the least. We just didn’t want it to get worse….I don’t know if they’re going to practice two days from now but they’ll practice before they play, they will be in the opening night lineup.”
