Winnipeg has turned things around with the losing streak well behind them after putting together three straight wins including an impressive 4-2 victory over Vancouver which included two power play goals by the Jets. Just one seems unheard of around these parts and somehow they got it done twice on the man advantage on Saturday night.
About the only question mark for the Jets is who starts in goal this afternoon. Seems likely that it will be Laurent Brossoit as Connor Hellebuyck has had the last three starts with Brossoit’s last game coming 11 days ago in Philly.
Calgary was making a push for a playoff spot but their current three-game slide has proven to be rather poor timing (duh) for them given the Kings have won three straight making the gap between 4th (L.A.) and 6th (Cgy) nine points. The Flames have actually scored ten more goals than the Jets (although they’ve played three more games) but the disparity is they’ve given up 55 more goals against.
