Both teams came in needing a win as they had identical 1-3-0 records and in the end both teams secured at least one point with the Jets taking the second one as well.
Notable:
Things didn’t get off to a good start for the Jets as the Oilers scored just 1:25 into the game and then less than five minutes later the visitors were down 2-0.
It wasn’t all bad in the opening period as Josh Morrissey scored his first goal of the season halfway through the opening period on the power play.
More special teams as Vlad Namestnikov took advantage of a miscue to score his first of the season which tied the game.
And then in OT it was Josh Morrissey to Mark Scheifele to the back to the net to give Winnipeg a critical two points as they improve to 2-3-0.
While it didn’t start off great for Connor Hellebuyck the Jets netminder stood tall and made 38 saves for the victory.
