Game 47: Winnipeg Jets vs Toronto Maple Leafs pre-game report

The Jets took Friday off after winning their fourth straight game on Thursday night going into St. Paul and walloping the fourth overall Wild. It sure appears that Winnipeg have turned things around given how things looked just a week ago.

Toronto is coming off an OT loss to the Golden Knights in Vegas which saw them face off against Mitch Marner for the first time. They are just on the outside of the playoff picture but have been on a roll going 6-1-3 in their last ten.

Skate news:

According to Danielle Bain of TSN no changes for the Jets today at morning skate.

Connor – Scheifele – Iafallo
Perfetti – Toews – Vilardi
Niederreiter – Lowry – Namestnikov
Koepke – Barron – Pearson

Leafs projected lines & D pairs:

McMann-Matthews-Domi
Maccelli-Tavares-Nylander
Knies-Roy-Robertson

Coach media availability:

To follow.

Odds:

Winnipeg holds a slight edge at home as they try to work their way back into the playoff picture, while Toronto arrives desperate for points despite solid recent results. The Jets are rightly modest favourites, but the Leafs’ urgency and form suggest a tight, competitive game that could easily swing on execution rather than the odds.
