Nikolaj Ehlers scored a nifty goal off a beauty feed by Paul Stastny 39 seconds into the 1st period.
A brutal bounce off the boards cost the Jets as it found Connor Hellebuyck out of his net and Mitch Marner put it home.
Jets captain Blake Wheeler got caught by a huge reverse bump which caused him to go down late in the 1st period and head to the room in just his second game back since suffering a concussion. However he was on the bench to start the 2nd period.
Mark Scheifele was benched (it appears) after the Leafs took a 3-1 lead in the 2nd period after the Jets centre took a long shift during 4-on-4 play and then wasn’t showing much alacrity in returning to the bench for a line change. He played the 3rd period.
