Notable:
Jets and Mark Scheifele needed him to get going and that’s just what he did on the power play.
Not often you see the same two players fight but Adam Lowry and Marcus Foligno fought in the 1st and 3rd. There could be some supplemental discipline coming to him from Player Safety after he kneed Lowry in the head at the end of the second fight although it was only assessed as a two minute penalty.
With two assists in the win Kyle Connor is now two points away from 300 in his NHL career. He also moves into a tie with Mathieu Perreault for 10th on the franchise all-time assists leaderboard with 142.
With the game-winner tonight Mark Scheifele now has 33 in his career which moves him into a tie with Blake Wheeler for 2nd on the list of franchise career leaders for game-winning goals.
That was Connor Hellebuyck‘s 27th career shutout.
While he didn’t get a hot lap it was the NHL debut of Moose assistant coach Marty Johnston who was filling in for Jets assistant coach Jamie Kompon who had to be home for personal reasons.
