The Jets were off on Saturday but they hit the ice this morning at the IcePlex as they prepared to face the Oilers tonight at Bell MTS Place. Puck drop is at 7 pm.
After taking a puck up high in morning skate Kyle Connor wasn’t on the ice for the Jets when pre-game warm up skate began. Instead Finnish prospect Kristian Vesalainen has been inserted into the lineup:
Vesalainen-Scheifele-Wheeler
Perreault-Little-Laine
Everberg-Suess-McKenzie
Harkins-Reichel-Appleton
Myers-Byfuglien
Morrow-Poolman
Schilling-Kulikov
Hellebuyck

Coach Maurice: Is Kyle Connor ok? (took puck up high). What is he looking to see from his second line? Some intrigue putting Ehlers with Roslovic? On young players getting first NHL games. What has impressed him about the new players in camp? What has he seen from Kulikov so far? What is he looking for in chemistry with D pairings? On the conversation with veterans playing on their off side. How much benefit will it provide for guys to be able to do that? Does he see Roslovic and Ehlers as a potential duo? On Ehlers flipping to the other side. Special teams competition. On Ehlers and Laine not having to play together. Benefit to having Perreault and Little. This training camp tooling with things that already work.
