The Jets are looking to end their three-game road trip with a win in Vegas after defeating the defending Stanley Cup champion Avalanche last night in Denver.
No morning skate today with the team having played on Wednesday. The only question mark is the status of Nikolaj Ehlers who was a game-time decision for the game against Colorado but ultimately didn’t end up playing. For now the lines and D pairs are based on yesterday’s game.
David Rittich is expected to get his first start of the season.
Skate news:
No skate.
Warm-up skate news:
As per Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun it will be David Rittich between the pipes for the Jets. Assistant coach Brad Lauer did say there were some game-time decisions and Scott, who is in Vegas, illustrates why noting “Logan Stanley and Kyle Capobianco are both out for warmup. No Dylan Samberg.”
Scott indicates that it will be Logan Stanley drawing back into the lineup with Kyle Capobianco a scratch.
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Appleton
Perfetti-Dubois-Wheeler
Barron-Lowry-Maenalanen
Gagner Gustafsson Jonsson-Fjallby
Morrissey-Pionk
Dillon-Schmidt
Stanley-Demelo
Rittich
Hellebuyck
Betway Odds:
Vegas comes into tonight’s game 3-1-0 on the season and were looking like they’d be perfect 4-0-0 to start the year when they were up 2-0 on Calgary until they collapsed against the Flames and ultimately lost the contest. They are still favoured over the Jets but if Winnipeg can play the way they did for the most part against the defending Stanley Cup champs last night it could make for an interesting game.
