The Canucks had won seven straight on the road but in Sam Gagner’s 1000th game the Jets put an end to that and to their three-game losing streak with a 4-2 win. They are now 22-13-1 on the season.

Notable:
Once again the Jets got off to a slow start as they didn’t register a shot for the first 10 minutes and 39 seconds of the opening period. It also didn’t help that the Canucks opened the scoring early in the period off a Dylan Samberg turnover.
For just the third time the Jets had a successful penalty shot attempt as Pierre-Luc Dubois puts home this filthy goal. That was the 17th penalty shot for the Jets since they returned to Winnipeg and he was just the third player to score. Last time was Nikolaj Ehlers (vs Bolts) back in 2016-17. Only other successful shot was Bryan Little (vs Pens) in 2015-16.
A remarkable season continues for Josh Morrissey who now has 36 assists in 36 games as his quest for 82 in 82 remains on pace. It wasn’t all good news for 44 after he took a big hit by his former teammate Tyler Myers which resulted in him leaving the game, coming back and then leaving again before taking another shift.
Mark Scheifele with the fourth hat trick of the Jets season (and seventh of his career, second of season). Number 55 is on pace to smash his old career high in goals (38) with current projections having him hit 50+ this season.
