Nice way to end the final home game before Christmas. Jets scored three goals in the 3rd period on their way to a 4-1 win over division rival Colorado. Patrik Laine added his 18th, Nikolaj Ehlers broke out of his “slump” with two goals, Blake Wheeler added one (his ninth) and Mark Scheifele contributed with two assists. The Jets are now 8-4-1 against the Central Division.
The Finnish call of Laine’s 18th goal was so mesmerizing that I created a post for it along with the TSN, Altitude Sports and TSN 1290 calls of it. Listen here.

Jets coach audio:
Paul Maurice: What does it mean for Ehlers to score. His thoughts on the defensive play today. On Laine and Ehlers have chemistry. On Ehlers embracing being a playmaker. Any theory as to why they have been good against the Central? Was today’s 2nd period the template moving forward?
Avalanche coach audio:
Jared Bednar: What did he like/dislike about the game from his team? When the team is in a funk like this do they need a full 60 to be able to point towards? What’s the main emotion with this group right now? Thoughts on the performance of Pickard.
