It’s been exactly two weeks since the Jets last played a game but today they kick off their road trip against a very good Golden Knights team, who sit first in the Pacific Division despite some key players being injured.
Since it is an afternoon contest we won’t have the benefit of a morning skate but based on comments made by interim head coach Dave Lowry this week in Winnipeg it is reasonable to assume that Andrew Copp is ready to play after meeting the team in Nevada from his home in Michigan now that he is out of Covid protocols. Yesterday we learned that despite shedding his non-contact uniform yesterday Evegny Svechnikov isn’t ready to return and 2020 1st rounder Cole Perfetti will also not be a player.
Which also means that Kristian Reichel will get his second NHL game and that Jansen Harkins will have an excellent opportunity on the second line for Winnipeg. Also David Gustafsson will play his second game of the season after he was injured against the Caps a few weeks back.
Morning skate:
None.
Warm up news:
As expected the projected lines are accurate with Andrew Copp skating in warm up according to Mitchell Clinton of JetsTV.
As per Jesse Granger of The Athletic Vegas the Jets will face old friend Laurent Brossoit in net for the Golden Knights.
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Stastny-Scheifele-Ehlers
Connor-Dubois-Harkins
Copp-Lowry-Reichel
Toninato-Gustafsson-Vesalainen
Morrissey-DeMelo
Dillon-Pionk
