The Jets won a tight game last night 4-3 in OT over the Habs to close out a two-game homestand while over in Alberta the Oilers were pummeling the Flames 7-3 in Calgary as they concluded a three-game road trip. Both teams are sitting with 38 points putting them in a tie for 2nd spot in the North Division and just two back of the idle Leafs although it is worth noting that Winnipeg has three games in hand on Edmonton.
Roster news:
The Jets took along Ville Heinola as he was added to the taxi squad before they left for this seven-game road trip so it will be interesting to see when the young defenceman gets his next shot with the big club after playing very well for the Moose in the AHL. With tonight being a back-to-back the biggest question mark will be if the Jets choose to use any fresh faces (and more importantly fresh legs). Might Jansen Harkins come in for someone on the 4th line? He hasn’t played since February 18th but could provide a good boost to the lineup if given the opportunity.
For now the lineup is simply based on last night’s game. We will wait to hear from Jets head coach Paul Maurice for an update.
Roster Update:
Jets coach Paul Maurice confirmed that Laurent Brossoit is in goal tonight and there won’t be any lineup changes according to Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun.
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Stastny-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Dubois-Ehlers
Copp-Lowry-Appleton
Perreault-Thompson-Lewis
Morrissey-DeMelo
Forbort-Pionk
Stanley-Poolman
Brossoit
Hellebuyck
