Game 29: Jets 4 Canadiens 3 in OT post-game recap

It wasn’t regulation but the Jets win it 4-3 in OT. They improve to 18-9-2 and are now just two back of 1st place Toronto with a game in hand.

With his goal in the 1st period Blake Wheeler moved ahead of Claude Lemieux on the NHL all-time points leadersboard into a tie with Börje Salming into 182nd overall. Next up is Rick Vaive who is one point up on the Jets captain.

The sample size continues to increase game by game by game by game as Mason Appleton continues to lock in a spot as a draft protected player for Wpg. Kid who worked his way up from the Moose 4th line to AHL’s outstanding rookie to Jets 3rd line is showing what hard work earns.

Kyle Connor is in the lead for goals scored by the Jets courtesy of his 15th and 16th goals of the season.  Connor must enjoying playing against the Habs. He has six goals in six games against Montreal this season.

Nikolaj Ehlers became the second Jets player to hit the 30 point mark joining Mark Scheifele who is in the lead with 37 on the season.  With that game-winning goal by Ehlers he ties Dustin Byfuglien for 5th on the all-time franchise list with 24.
