The Jets winning streak of two straight comes to an end after the Hurricanes take it 4-2. Winnipeg ends homestand with 2W 2L and are 12-9-4 on the season.

Notable:
The Hurricanes had a 10-1 edge over the Jets in high danger chances as per Natural Stat Trick in the 1st period and if not for Connor Hellebuyck it could have been a lot worse.
The second goal for Carolina was questionable. I personally thought it was goalie interference but the refs didn’t agree.
Paul Stastny continues to show how invaluable he is with a perfect saucer pass to Nikolaj Ehlers which brought the Jets within one. Ehlers is heating up with four goals in his last three games. He slides into a tie with Kyle Connor into 5th place on the all-time goals leader for the franchise with 146.
Nate Schmidt picked up a secondary assist on the Jets opening goal of the game. He now has matched his points total from last season in 29 fewer games:

There was nothing lucky about Pierre-Luc Dubois‘ 13th goal of the season as he scored an absolute beauty. While there isn’t a lot of good to take away from the game number 80 being on pace to score 40+ is one of them.
The Jets special teams are abysmal. The only word to sum up the power play right now is selfish based on how long guys stay on and since this is a family website I won’t use the appropriate word to describe the 31st ranked penalty kill.
Jets are lucky that they avoided a potentially bad injury to Mark Scheifele after he took a knee on knee from Ian Cole. Cole was assessed a major penalty.
