Notable:
Very nice pre-game ceremony for Blake Wheeler playin his game 1000 of his NHL career, Including a video tribute featuring many former teammates although not surprisingly Dustin Byfuglien got the biggest cheers.
Talk about a comeback (or return to form) for Pierre-Luc Dubois as he scored the opening goal of the game on the power play. Check out this split (which was accomplished in 17 fewer games):
2021-22: 12G 9A 21PTS
2020-21: 8G 12A 20 PTS
Nice individual effort from Andrew Copp as he started off the 2nd period the right way for the Jets.
Evgeny Svechnikov definitely wants to get on a bit of a heater with his brother’s club coming to town as he scored a beauty. (although Andrei is day-to-day).
Kyle Connor made it 4-1 on the PP. It was so fast nobody saw it go in and out of the Leafs net.
Nikolaj Ehlers scored the fourth Jets goal of the 2nd period when he wired a shot home.
Giving the Jets some insurance was Mark Scheifele in the 3rd period.
Lots of fighting in the 3rd period.
Multi point game:
Pierre-Luc Dubois 1G 1A
Kyle Connor 1G 1A
Mark Scheifele 1G 1A
Andrew Copp 1G 1A
Blake Wheeler 2A
Neal Pionk 2A
Nate Schmidt 2A
