The Jets and Avs will face off for the first time since April 30th when Colorado defeated Winnipeg four games to one in their first round playoff series. Winnipeg had come into the post-season on an eight-game win streak but got their clocks cleaned in five games by an Avs team that were had gone into the playoffs with a 3-4-1 record in their final eight contests.
Once again the Jets are a red-hot team (12-1-0) having won four straight going up against an Avalanche team (6-7-0) that won their last game but had lost the three prior ones giving up five goals per game in each of those defeats.
The visitors come into this contest with a laundry list of skating wounded including: Ross Colton, Miles Wood, Jonathan Drouin and possibly Cale Makar. Also missing is Jet killer Valeri Nichushkin who was cleared to practice after completing six-month Player Assistance suspension.
