The Jets players had the day off yesterday after they concluded a three games in four night road trip.  While the team was off the ice on Monday they did make waves by signing RFA Jacob Trouba to a two-year deal and the newly signed defenceman was on the ice this morning.  Sean Reynolds of Sportsnet is down at the MTS Centre and gives us these lines:

Ehlers-Scheifele-Laine
Connor-Petan-Wheeler
Copp-Lowry-Tanev
Dano-Burmistrov-Thorburn

Morrissey-Byfuglien
Enstrom-Myers
Chiarot-Postma

Hellebuyck
Hutchinson

Mark Stuart, Jacob Trouba and Julian Melchiori skated as the extras for the Jets today.

Player audio:

Blake Wheeler:  How did he welcome Jacob Trouba back to the room?  Are there any hard feelings from anyone in the room?  Had he kept in touch with Trouba?  Often?  Because he is such a big piece did it make it easier to welcome him back?  Did he get any good nature ribbing?  When Trouba gets up to speed can he have an impact on the game?

Mark Scheifele:  On hearing the Trouba news and seeing him back on the ice.  Have heard in the past if you don’t want to be here, there is the door, so why is this different?  What was the reaction when Trouba came into the room today?  Some good natured ribbing?  Where did he miss Trouba the most?  Had he kept in close contact with Trouba?

Jacob Trouba:  What is it like being back?  Does he still want to be traded?  Why did he want to be traded?  Where does he expect to play (will he play left side/right side)?  What did he accomplish?  Does he have some fences to mend with any teammates?  When he looks back at what he has missed (camp/money) was it worth it?  Why did a bridge deal make more sense?  Is he prepared for any backlash from the fans?  What is the biggest difference from training camp to today?  What has he been doing and where was he?  When does he think he will be ready to play?  Does he have any regrets?  What does he have to say about the rumours that he wouldn’t play in Canada?  How did the meeting with Cheveldayoff a few weeks back change things?  On the December 1st deadline.  How much has he watched the team?

Tyler Myers:  How does he feel about Trouba’s absence?  On changes to ice time with Trouba’s return.  Does Trouba have fences to mend?  Is he back in the lineup?  What does it meant to have Trouba back?  Players in this room understand the nature of the business.  What is it like when Trouba walked in the room?  On returning to the lineup.  How did he think the team played when he was watching from above?

Coach audio:

Paul Maurice:  When does he see Jacob Trouba getting into the lineup?  Where will Trouba play?  If Trouba wants to play right side, would he have to play 3rd pair or is he playing left side?  Does he have a day in mind when Trouba gets back into the lineup?  Where did he miss him most?  Does Trouba have any fences to mend with the coach?  Health updates.  Biggest advantage of getting this solved in early November as opposed to December 1st?  How does his remaining on the trading block impact his usage?  They (Trouba/Agent) made it clear they did want out of Winnipeg.
