For the first time the Jets will be visited by the Utah Hockey Club this evening. These are not the Jets 1.0 or the Coyotes as those histories were left behind in Arizona when the team was relocated north to Utah.
This was seen as an up and coming team with some solid players and a ton of draft capital. They dealt some of that during the summer when they acquired Mikhail Sergachev from the Lightning and John Marino from the Devils.
They’ve had a good start to the 2024-25 campaign with a 5-4-3 record through 12 games which has them in 4th in the Central Division. They’ve scored 22 fewer goals than the Jets and they’ve allowed 12 more against. They come into tonight’s game with the 18th ranked PP and the 16th ranked PK. Clayton Keller and Dylan Guenther lead the way with six goals each.
Based on how things looked for the Jets on Monday no changes are expected but we’ll have to wait for morning skate to confirm. Worth noting Nikolaj Ehlers and Logan Stanley did not skate yesterday but assistant coach Marty Johnston said it was maintenance for both.
Morning skate news:
No lineup changes for the Jets. Ehlers and Stanley both taking part as expected.
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Perfetti-Namestnikov-Ehlers
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
Barron-Kupari-Iafallo
Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Stanley-Miller
