Game 13: Winnipeg Jets vs Los Angeles Kings pre-game report

The Jets left Winnipeg riding a three-game win streak, which has them tied for second overall in the entire NHL with about 15% of the schedule completed. This is notable given the absence of captain Adam Lowry, top shutdown defenceman Dylan Samberg, and secondary scoring from Cole Perfetti. On Monday, we learned that Lowry would make his regular-season debut this evening in Los Angeles. Samberg and Perfetti are on the trip but still need to get into contact.

It wasn’t all good news for the NHL club of Winnipeg, however. Centre Morgan Barron was lost to a mid-body injury in the win over the Penguins on Saturday and is now listed as week-to-week while Gustav Nyquist remains day-to-day after suffering an injury in the win over the Hawks last Thursday.

Away from Canada Life Centre the Jets have gone a perfect 4-0-0 on the road where they’ve scored twice as many goals as they’ve given up. The penalty kill remains in the top 5 of the league while the power play is sitting 8th overall.

They take on a Kings team that have not yet won a home game going 0-3-2 at Cyrpto Arena. Their goal differential is -7. They have the 25th ranked power play and the 24th ranked penalty kill.
