The Jets had the day off yesterday and have hit the ice for a morning skate today in New Jersey (as the Knicks play basketball this afternoon at MSG) as they get ready to face the Rangers tonight at the most famous arena in the world.  New York played last night in Boston so we will likely use their lines from last night against the Bruins.

According to Ted Wyman of the Winnipeg Sun the Jets will use the exact same projected lines, D pairs and starting goalie today that they used in Detroit on Friday and those are:

Laine-Scheifele-Ehlers
Connor-Petan-Wheeler
Dano-Lowry-Tanev
Burmistrov-Copp-Thorburn

Morrissey-Byfuglien
Enstrom-Postma
Melchiori-Chiarot

Hellebuyck
Hutchinson

Ted also added that “Myers and Stuart skated but are both out tonight. Perreault out tonight as well but Maurice says all could be back Dallas Tuesday.”

Player pre-game audio:

Patrik Laine:  Is he feeling very comfortable or is there a lot left to accomplish/learn?  How have his pre-game rituals changed since coming to the NHL?  During the down periods of a season how does he get back to the positives?  What has he liked about the team during the road trip?  Any intrigue playing at MSG?

Nic Petan:  Playing with top level talent.  Facing better opposing players.  How much more relaxed was he going into the game in Detroit?  Challenge presented by the Rangers.

Mark Scheifele:  Does he think they should eliminate morning skate?  A game day in the life of Mark Scheifele.  What has he liked from the two previous games and bringing those elements to today’s game?  Being able to come back in games.  Nice to see so many young players having success in the league?  What would he tell young players about the “down periods” in the NHL?  Is Laine’s the hardest shot he has ever seen?  Is the day more taxing coming to New Jersey for AM skate?

Coach pre-game audio:

Paul Maurice:  A little different with AM skate in New Jersey?  Team feeling good with the results so far on road trip? Do they need to play a different style against a team like the Rangers?  One of the benefits of a young team is they don’t feel the same intimidation?  What does he like/appreciate about his game and what does he need to work on to get to that next level?  Is the trajectory of Laine the same as Eric Staal’s? (who Maurice had as a rookie).  Being able to give the players some time to relax in NYC.  Injury updates (Myers, Stuart and Perreault).  Any lineup changes?
