The setting was pretty spectacular in Regina and the folks from Saskatchewan put on quite a show but after 40 minutes the Jets found themselves down 1-0 after a controversial Elias Lindholm goal was challenged and upheld.
There was quite a bit of angst from Jets fans in the third period as it was looking like the Jets might be shutout for the second straight Heritage Classic but Calgary native Josh Morrissey scored a Power Play goal on a beautiful slap shot from the point with just over four minutes left in the period to tie the game up. There were some late chances for the go ahead goal but it would take overtime before the Jets would win it thanks to Kyle Connor turning on the jets and feeding a perfect pass to Bryan Little who tapped home the game winning goal.
Winnipeg improves to 6-6-0 on the season.

Bryan Little and Josh Morrissey
Coach Maurice: On Bryan Little getting the game winner. Can a win on this stage be more than just one win/two points? Why put Josh Morrissey back on the first power play unit at that time? What was the explanation on the challenge? How does he feel his team executed? How much does he think this measured as a classic game? Did he ever have a sense that they were giving fans an experience that they were really enjoying?
